Glocal Insurance was established by David Comer, CHRS, CLTC, LTCP. Mr. Comer has been active in group and advanced insurance products for over twenty years. After graduating from the University of Southern California in 1992, David started his career as a self-funding healthcare analyst and Junior Consultant.

By 1996, he was working as a Senior Consultant for a boutique Los Angeles-based brokerage. During his three years at this brokerage, he worked with clients that required assistance with collective bargaining agreements including detailed evaluations of non-union versus union healthcare and disability contracts. Additionally, Mr. Comer obtained extensive mergers & acquisitions experience during the period of 1996-1999, when he traveled regularly for a client that started with 220 employees and grew to well over 28,000 in less than three years. During this time, he also developed a comprehensive knowledge of International Benefits, with specific experience in Europe, Canada, Australia and Southeast Asia.

In 1999, he founded his own insurance brokerage called Benefit Resources Group. During the period of 1999-2013, Mr. Comer continued to broaden his horizons in the advanced products marketplace with extensive sales of long-term care, disability and key executive insurance. During this time, he also developed a professional knowledge of human resources and technology resources for enhancing the efficiency of the human resources function in small to mid-sized companies.

In 2013, David started a new company and named it Glocal Insurance – a hybrid of “Global” and “Local”, which would specialize predominantly in employee benefits consulting, with a specific emphasis on educating companies about the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA) aka “Obamacare,” which has become a significantly labor intensive piece of legislation in terms of compliance.

David is an avid SCUBA diver and nature lover, and actively contributes to numerous animal and ocean-related charities.
